At 11.45 last night Harborough District Council voted by 12 votes to 10 to reject the Gazeley application for the extension of Magna Park to the north along the A5. This was in no small part due to the very well organised presentations made by Magna Park is Big Enough, and they are to be congratulated on the work that they put in. There is bound to be an appeal, and the other two extensions to Magna Park will still go ahead. However this is step in the right direction.
The whole business did further highlight the lack of concern for the west of the district that is shown by some Councillors, and the poor quality of planning that allowed it to get this far together with the failure to protect the seperation zone between us and Magna Park
